| |
Comprehensive
Vocational Testing |
| |
Designed
for claimants that require a better idea of what career choices are
suited to them based on their aptitudes, transferable skills and interest
levels. Tests may include General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB); Career
Assessment Inventory, Vocational Version (CAI); COII, Transferable
Skills Analysis, Career Decision-Making Interest Inventory (CDMI),
and/or Evaluating Your Interest. |
| |
Transferable
Skills Analysis (TSA) |
| |
The
results of this assessment identify three viable employment opportunities
that are available for claimants near their residence. These jobs
are based on the claimant's current skills, physical and cognitive
capabilities, occupational interests and |
|
| |
previous
work experience. All
jobs identified will meet claimant's commensurate level. |
| |
Labour
Market Analysis (LMA) |
| |
A
vocational rehabilitation specialist completes this wage survey by
contacting local employers and reporting salary information. This
report can be used for a variety of functions including identifying
occupations that are at a claimant's commensurate level or to help
claimants set long-term wage recovery goals. |
| |
 |
For
claimants who require the complete rehabilitation service from referral
to rehab to case closure, services include an initial home visit;
meeting with employers and doctors; referral to appropriate rehabilitation
and medical services, gradual return work schedules and negotiating
with |
| |
employers
for modified duties. If necessary, vocational rehabilitation services
as described above may be initiated. |
| |
This
service is available for those claimants who do not necessarily do
well in a large institutional rehabilitation facility or do not require
interdisciplinary rehabilitation. They will be provided one-on-one
exercise consultation in their home or at a local fitness facility.
Goals of increasing tolerance to activity, structuring daily activities,
and community re-integration are established early. Vocational rehabilitation
services may follow this treatment to help with return to work planning.
|
| |
Functional
Capacity Evaluations (FCE) |
| |
This
assessment is necessary to determine a claimant's physical abilities
and limitations. This service is provided by one of our experienced
Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists who are Matheson certified.
Job site analysis and |
|
| |
ergonomic
evaluation can also be conducted. |
| |
A rehabilitation
consultant can work directly with a claimant at the job site to
assist with re-integrating them with their work environment. This
support may include implementing cognitive retraining techniques,
stress management, or time-based pacing techniques. The rehabilitation
consultant can work directly with managers and co-workers to educate
them on the claimant's specific situation to make the return to
work successful.
