We
recognize the unique challenges that people with disabilities have
in locating employment and returning to the work force. A Vocational
Rehabilitation Specialist can help these individuals overcome their
challenges with appropriate support and guidance. We locate |
| |
long-term,
competitive employment based on an individual's
interests, abilities,
transferable skills, economic requirements and goals. |
| |
Once
placed, we can provide on-site job training. This includes assisting
clients in implementing compensatory strategies to the workplace:
utilizing pain or stress management techniques; educating coworkers
on the client's abilities and limitations; teaching proper body mechanics
and lifting techniques; or setting up ergonomic work stations.
Once the client demonstrates the ability to meet the competitive standards
outlined by the employer, the Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist
will gradually phase-out on-site involvement. Our methods typically
conclude with a financially independent client, an employer with a
productive employee, and a referral agent with reduced claims costs.
